Recycling and Waste Management
We are committed to reducing waste across Stockland Park Precinct including the sporting fields, Lake Kawana and Kawana Aquatic Centre.
Last year 2010 Stockland Park created 720m3 of waste which is about 2800 wheelie bins.
A waste assessment identified that 45% of rubbish thrown into the waste bin could be diverted to recycling as it was plastic bottles and aluminium cans. By improving the placement of bins by pairing waste and recycling bins together along with improved signage and new bin lids will increase the amount of recycling by 50%.
The sporting clubs who use the venue are also encouraged to "Do the right thing and use the right bin".
