Junior Development Program comprises four squads:
n Junior Piranhas;
n Piranhas;
n Junior Marlins;
n Marlins
The program has been designed to provide opportunities for young athletes to develop the essential skills for successfully competing in swimming and surf sports. The Junior Piranhas squad is the introductory level of the Junior Development Squad program. It is a transitional squad between learn to swim and squad training. The Marlins squad is the finishing level from which swimmers can advance to the High Performance Development squad with the essential skills and fitness for high level competition. All squads in the program will focus on the development of efficient and balanced strokes; streamlining; starts; turns; finishes; as well as the fitness and confidence to compete successfully at the athlete's chosen level. The introduction of dry land stretching is incorporated at this level. The swimmers will also develop an understanding of squad equipment such as pull-bouys and paddles.
All swimmers have either advanced from the KAC Swim School or they have been assessed by our coaches as ready to join the program.
The minimum requirement for admission to the Junior Piranhas is:
n The ability to maintain correct technique in Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, for 50/25/25 mts
n Butterfly kick and stroke drills
n The ability to streamline and dive.
FEES

$115 per term (10 week school term, once per week)

$55 per 5 day vacation intensive program.
Piranhas & Junior Marlins
$90 per term (10 week school term, once per week)

Marlins

n Bookings cannot be made without payment.
n Payments can be made by cash, cheque, Visa, MasterCard or EFTPOS.
n The KAC does not provide a cash out facility.
EQUIPMENT
All Junior Development squad members are required to bring their own equipment to each session, including:
* Swim Cap
* Drink Bottle
* Flippers
* Paddles
* Pull-buoy
* Towel
* Snorkel
* A nutritious snack for after the session
Please be sure all equipment is clearly labeled with the swimmer's name.
KAC POLICIES
Entry cards:
A photo id swipe card will be issued once the swim school has received full payment.
The card needs to be swiped upon arrival at the KAC reception counter each time you enter the centre for a training session.
A $6.00 fee will be charged for the replacement of a lost card.
KAWANA AQUATICS CLUB
The Kawana Waters Swimming Club (formerly the Quad Park Swimming Club) offers a great opportunity for swimmers from the Junior Development program to gain competition experience in a supportive family environment. The Club will have regular fortnightly club nights on Friday nights commencing at 6:00pm. Swimmers will compete against their own personal best times.
