KAWANA AQUATIC CENTRE SWIMMER DEVELOPMENT
Stockland Park caters for everyone with an interest in aquatic sports from the lap swimmer to the dedicated high performance athletes with the most comprehensive range of aquatic sport and recreation programs on the Sunshine Coast. 

KAWANA AQUATIC CENTRE PROGRAMS AND COACHING STAFF
Stockland Park has engaged leading coaches in all aquatic sports to help you achieve your goals for health, fitness, recreation or competition. The Kawana Aquatic Centre has a team of coaches who have the proven ability to guide athletes in aquatic sports and triathlon along a pathway to success at their chosen level. Peter Gartrell is the Head Coach of the high performance program in swimming. Peter has extensive coaching experience with National standard swimmers in Australia and Asia and was recently on the Australian coaching team for the Oceania Championships in Cairns.

LEARN TO SWIM FOR ALL AGES
Learning to swim is a gift for life!  The Kawana Aquatic Centre Swim School offers leading edge instructional programs for all age groups and ability levels. The Swim School has a great team of fully qualified and experienced teachers led by Michele Seidel who will guide all learners along a pathway to efficient swimming technique and a lifetime of enjoyment with aquatic sports and recreation. The Swim School is recognised as a leading centre for introductory programs for infants and toddlers.

50 METRE, 10 LANE, OLYMPIC POOL
The 50 metre pool is full of sporting opportunities having been the training
base for many teams bound for World Championship or Olympic Games competition. The KAC High Performance and Emerging Swimmer Development squads and the Sunshine Coast Triathlon Academy
squads train in the 50 metre pool in the early mornings and after school hours. The pool can accommodate visiting international teams and clubs as well as host training camps in well all aquatic sports and international standard swim meets and water polo events. The heated 50-metre pool is ideal for swimming laps for fitness.

DIVING POOL
As well as being the venue for the Australian Sports Commission
Regional TID Program and the Donnet Diving Club the Diving Pool is the training base for the Sunshine Coast Water Polo Institute and the KAC Water Polo Cadets. The diving pool is also a popular facility with local aqua aerobics enthusiasts. Many local schools also use the diving pool for training and competition in diving and water polo. Several Sunshine Coast scuba diving businesses use the centre as their base for introductory lessons in their scuba diving programs.

25 METRE LAP POOL
The KAC Junior Swimmer Development squads 25 metre pool in the early mornings and after school hours. The pool can accommodate school and club swim meets. The heated 50-metre pool is ideal for swimming laps for fitness. The pool is also regularly used for Powerade Inflatable parties, and advanced learn to swim classes where the focus is on developing efficient swimming strokes for swimmers in transition from the Swim School to the KAC Junior Swimmer Development Program.

INDOOR HEATED POOL
The 20 metre enclosed pool is the home of the busy KAC Swim School
where the professional team provides a range of programs from Introductory program for babies and toddlers to advanced stroke development classes. The pool is also suited to seniors who can get active in the water with aqua-aerobics or those who require hydrotherapy while undergoing rehabilitation.

FAMILY DAY OUT
The endless summer in the tropical style pool makes for fun-filled days.
Families enjoy days relaxing in the octopus themed wading pool. This child-friendly area will please all of the family.

BIRTHDAY PARTIES AND WORK FUNCTIONS
Kawana Aquatic Centre offers a unique environment which allows you to enjoy the occasion without the hassle of preparation and cleaning up at home. Theme parties including clowns and face painting are available on request.

The fee structure below will apply from 1st September 2009. Parents, careers, partners of individuals participating in KAC approved programs may enter free of charge.

Kawana Aquatic Centre (KAC) opened in 1993 due in response to increased demands from the community for sports and recreational facilities. The Quad Park Corporation took over the management of the KAC in May 2006.  The KAC facilities will play a significant role in the development of the precinct as a major regional sports centre.  The KAC is the largest aquatic Sport and Recreation centre on the Sunshine Coast comprising:
♦ 50 meter 10 lane heated Olympic pool
♦ 25 meter 6 lane heated program pool
♦ 15 meter heated dive pool with 3m dive board & 1m dive board with 
   underwater viewing chamber 
♦ Enclosed heated 17 meter learners pool with disabilities lift with 
   air-conditioned viewing room
♦ Leisure pool (fully fenced)
♦ 10 meter heated  pool
♦ Skate park (under shade)
♦ BBQ facilities
♦ Café & Retail shop
♦ Undercover deck
♦ Easy access with ample parking
Quad Park has plans to develop the facility in accordance with the growing demand for aquatic and recreational needs on the Sunshine Coast. Quad Park offers a broad range of aquatic sport and recreational programs at the KAC including:
♦ Learn to swim for all ages;
♦ The Kawana Aquatics Club;
♦ High Performance squad programs for athletes aspiring to be  competitive in high level competition in swimming, surf sports, triathlon, diving and water polo;
♦ Development programs for aspiring junior athletes in surf sports, triathlon, spring board diving and water polo;
♦ Talent search programs in all aquatic sports;
♦ Come n try days in all aquatic sports and recreational activities;
♦ Stroke development and fitness programs for all age groups who enjoy swimming as part of their personal fitness training routine;
♦ Aqua aerobics;
♦ Scuba diving;
♦ Catered birthday parties, special events and holiday programs.

Our swim school caters for all levels, starting from babies from six months of age. Classes operate Monday to Saturday. To enquire about the program please visit the Swim School or alternatively phone before 12.00pm or after 3.00pm from Monday to Friday.

 NEW BOOKINGS

1.  The KAC Swim School offers four 10 week ‘terms’ per year which coincide with Education Queensland school terms
   
2. Vacation programs called ‘intensives’ are also offered during the school vacation period.
3. Interested families should make a booking by providing the Swim School with the relevant details including the preferred days and times.  An assessment class will be arranged subsequent to the booking fee being paid and thereafter an appropriate class day and time within the term.

RE-ENROLMENTS

1. Re-enrolments may be secured by paying the deposit of $25.00 during re-enrolment week.
2. Re-enrolments for the next term commence in week 8.
3. The balance of the fee for the next term (ie $100.00) is required to be paid on or before the first lesson of the new term.
4. If the balance of the term fees is not paid by the due date an enrolment may be cancelled and the position in the class declared vacant.
