Peter Gartrell is the head swimming coach at the Kawana Aquatic Centre, and we are privileged to have his expertise on board as he brings with him many years of experience, knowledge and skill in elite swimming coaching and education.
Peter is dedicated to his squad members and believes that you must have a sensible well balanced training program, focusing on the specific talents of each individual, to succeed at the highest level.
Peter has been a national team coach for Australia, has trained over 50 national age title holders and 10 national open title holders and was the head coach for a number of swimming clubs including the University of Queensland, St Peters Lutheran College, Marist Brothers College Brisbane, Chandler Aquatic Centre and Surrey Park in Victoria.
Peter's background also includes 12 years of coaching in the international arena in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam and he brings that wealth of knowledge and experience to the Kawana Aquatic Centre.
