London Olympics 2012 here we come!!

Stockland Park is a proud sponsor of the Sunshine Coast Water polo Institute (SCWI) .The institute is designed to provide effective results and opportunities for all elite water polo athletes that want to strive for their goals. The program will allow a select few athletes to maintain their commitment to the sport all year round or focus on a particular time of year.



SCWI will also allow Technical Director Brett Adams to focus on developing the standardised level of Sunshine Coast water polo players. Brett Adams will also be assisting all Sunshine Coast Based Clubs to allow for a sustainable flow of quality athletes into the SCWI and assist developing other coaches and parent support programs.



SCWI will run all year and athletes will have the benefits of using the world class facilities of Stockland Park with developments including a multi- purpose sports stadium, gym facilities, conference rooms, upgrades to existing aquatic facilities and accommodation for visiting teams.

Sunshine Coast Water polo Institute athletes will engage in the following:
  • Year round squad like training
  • Two Water Polo Sessions per week
  • Optional Swim Session/s
  • Optional Strength and Conditioning Session/s
  • Games against international travelling teams
  • Tour to Hawaii and USA 2007
  • Tour to Pan Pacific Games Auckland New Zealand 2008

    Director – Sunshine Coast Waterpolo Institute
Brett Adams has the desire to develop the best fundamentals, strategy, and fun for the sport of water polo on the Sunshine Coast.

Brett has the experience necessary to develop athletes’ full potential with past achievements in the sport including:
  • Australian Waterpolo Representative – Country Mens 2006
  • New Zealand Men’s Team Representative 1998 – 2002
  • Commonwealth Games – Manchester 2002
  • Australian National League player with “New Zealand Stingrays” 1998 – 2003
  • NCAA All American Player 1998 – 2000

Coaching 

On a coaching level, Brett was instrumental in the formation of the now incorporated Kawana Water Polo Club and is personally responsible for recent successes of the same both on a Queensland level and abroad in the Pan Pacific Youth Championships. Brett focuses of combining traditional, modern and innovative coaching techniques to achieve the maximum potential from his athletes.
